The original launch on July 18th 2001 at Morwellham Quay near Tavistock in Devon was a spectacular event with unusual photo opportunities. Dress in period costume TANIA CROSSE disembarked from the ship The Garlandstone and was welcomed by Morwellham's Director, also in his Victorian attire for this special occasion, before presenting him with a copy of her book. A delighted crowd - many of whom had been drawn to Morwellham by an interview with the author on BBC Radio Devon the previous day - was then led around the port by Tavistock's town crier, stopping at various venues where Tania and local actress, Sarah Cunliffe, performed dramatised readings from the novel.
